Life of Pi Contemporary Novel Study
Your exploration through Life of Pi will consist of three components: Literature Circles, Independent Research via a weblog, and a paper.
Life of Pi Independent Project
You must choose TWO of the following projects to be completed independently.
1. Webquest – Create a website that further explores the novel, the author, and/or religions, using the information you gather to lead your classmates to a greater understanding of Life of Pi.
2. Timeline – Create a timeline that depicts the events that happened to Pi and/or the author. You may include maps, video clips, pictures, etc.
3. Interview - Interview someone of a religion other than Christianity. You may videotape your interview or post it on a podcast. A list of questions should be prepared before your interview.
4. Review – Create a critique of the novel, adding graphic elements that support your point of view.
5. Online newsletter – Create a newsletter or brochure featuring Pi’s journey. As above, this is more than words. Add visual elements.
6. Essay – Post an essay based on the suggestions given on this weblog.
7. Artwork – Create a visual journey of Pi’s ordeal, using Corel Draw, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator. If you wish to use more traditional methods, you may scan your original artwork to post online or find some creative way to work your artwork into your digital presentation.
